January 2018 Challenge

Happy New Year all!

I hope the holiday season treated you right and that you’re ready to start 2018 with an open mind, a kind heart and a strong voice to speak your truth.

I spent the last week in complete hibernation mode (hard not to when you’re in the countryside during one of the most impressive cold snaps of the decade). I’ve been reading, getting caught up on a little work, spending time with family, eating SO MUCH good food, working on jigsaw puzzles, wearing all the comfy pyjamas, enjoying dog walks through the snowy woods, watching the second season of The Crown (along with many of the World Juniors hockey games, although not really by choice) and really just taking pleasure in the downtime.

Like I mentioned a few weeks ago, I feel the need to start setting goals for myself again in order to gain a little control over my life. I’ve been letting life live me a little too much lately. Instead of a set list of resolutions for the new year, I’ve decided to set a new goal for each month of 2018.JanuaryChallenge.jpg

My goal for the month of January is to drink 3L of water each and every day. Although water is my favorite thing to drink, I don’t drink nearly enough. Because of this, I often feel sluggish and tired. I experience debilitating headaches. My skin suffers greatly from being so dehydrated. I’ll be tracking my water intake with an app on my phone (Waterlogged) because I know myself… if I don’t track, I’ll forget. Hopefully, once the month is over, this has become a habit that I won’t have to track anymore; it’ll just be natural.

And the best part of all is that, in the last 48 hours, I’ve assembled an amazing community of like-minded people who will be joining me! I put it out there two days ago and the response was overwhelming so I’ve created a Facebook group and we’re all going to be working on this challenges together.

Whatever your dreams are for this upcoming year, I’m sending good vibes your way all day today while I head back to the city and resume my daily routines which will hopefully include a bit more movement, a few more vegetables and a whole lot of amazing. IMG_4179
